About WBJEE
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is organized by the WBJEEB for admission into premier government universities (Jadavpur University, Calcutta University, Kalyani Government Engineering College, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College), state institutes, and top private engineering colleges across West Bengal.
Admission through WBJEE ranks provides access to world-class faculty, renowned placements, and highly subsidized state tuition fees (such as Jadavpur University's landmark engineering programs).
WBJEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualifications
- Engineering & Technology: Passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongside Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application.
- Minimum Marks: Minimum 45% aggregate in the three compulsory subjects (40% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD). English minimum passing mark of 30%.
- Jadavpur University Specific Criteria: Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (55% for reserved), with at least 60% in Mathematics alone.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 17 years as of 31st December of the admission year.
- No upper age limit for Engineering (Marine Engineering upper age limit is 25 years).

Examination Structure
WBJEE consists of two distinct papers conducted in separate shifts on the same day:
- Paper 1 (Mathematics): 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (100 Marks | 2 Hours)
- Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry): 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (100 Marks | 2 Hours)
