About WBP Constable
The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) conducts this unified state recruitment for Constables and Lady Constables. Selected personnel are inducted into the state police force, armed police battalions, specialized task forces, and district police stations.
Selection Stages:
- Written Examination (85 Marks): Objective OMR test assessing General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, and English.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Verification of height, weight, and chest specifications.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Mandatory timed running trial.
- Interview (15 Marks): Assessment of communication skills, general awareness, and suitability.
- Medical Examination & Police Verification: Final fitness and background verification.
WBP Constable 2026 Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Candidate must have passed the Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) or its equivalent.
2. Age Limit (as of 1st January)
- Minimum: 18 Years | Maximum: 30 Years
- Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-A/B, up to 35 years for Civic Volunteers with required service years.
3. Physical Measurement Standards (PMT)
- Male (General / OBC / SC): Height 167 cm, Chest 78 cm (with 5 cm expansion to 83 cm), Weight 57 kg.
- Male (Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Rajbanshis, ST): Height 160 cm, Chest 76 cm (with 5 cm expansion), Weight 53 kg.
- Lady Constable (General / OBC / SC): Height 160 cm, Weight 49 kg.
- Lady Constable (Gorkhas, Rajbanshis, ST): Height 152 cm, Weight 45 kg.
4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Male Constables: 1600 meters run within 6 minutes 30 seconds.
- Lady Constables: 800 meters run within 4 minutes.

- Language: Bilingual (Bengali & Nepali, except English section)
